BASAK NEIGHBORHOOD AFETZEDE RESIDENCE AREA DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND URBAN DESIGN PROJECT

“Basak Neighborhood Afetzede Residences Development Plan and Urban Design Project” proposes healthy contemporary urban spaces within a holistic planning framework. The 1996 plan of the project area has been revised and improved by integrating transportation axes on a regional scale, developed in line with environmental plans. The approach has resulted in zoning and implementary development plans and devised urban design projects.

In this context, the public interest at the forefront was considered as a catalyst in the overall design process. The project area attributes determined by strategic location have defined its importance in terms of pedestrian/public transportation and vehicle accessibility emerged in the planning and design process. The guiding principles of the design enhance the spatial quality and urban fiction to meet the urban needs; to stimulate the economic life of the area and to create risk-free healthy urban spaces.
